They’re All Watching You. But Who Are They, Really?

By Jacent Voigt, founder of JasceyCents

There are people who look up to you but not all of them clap when you rise. Not all of them want what’s best for you and not all of them know how to say, “I see you, and I admire you.”

Some love you. Some want to become you. Some want to break what they don’t understand and some… just need you to go first so they can follow.

So let’s talk about who's really watching and what to do with their gaze.

1. The Silent Admirer

You may never know their name. They don’t comment. They don’t repost. They don’t DM but they watch. Faithfully. Quietly.

They sit in the shadows of your stories, eyes wide, heart open. They are the ones who take screenshots of your quotes, who try your routines, who whisper, “One day I’ll be like her.”

But here’s the truth:

Their silence doesn’t mean they don’t care.

It means they’re scared.

Scared to be seen.

Scared to begin.

Scared to show they’re still becoming.

What they need from you:

Consistency. Not perfection.

Not performance. Just presence.

They are gathering strength from the fact that you haven’t quit.

Let your living be proof that starting late, scared, or small is still starting.

2. The Dreamer Who Wishes They Were You

This one is hard to talk about.

Because the line between admiration and envy is thin and often blurry.

They love your life…but also resent you for living it.They watch with clenched teeth and glossy eyes. They whisper to themselves, “Why not me?”They might copy you.

Or criticize you.

Or ghost you when things get too bright.

But it’s not always malice. Sometimes it’s pain.

They’re grieving their own inaction.

They’re projecting the battle they haven’t fought yet.

What they need from you:

Unapologetic light.

Let them see you shine without shame.

Not to gloat.

But to show that it’s possible, even for them.

And maybe one day, your glow will melt their resistance.

3. The Loud Supporter

These are your angels in human skin.

They cheer when no one else is listening.

They repost. Recommend. Refer. Reassure.

They say, “You got this,” when you barely believe it yourself.

They speak your name in rooms you didn’t know existed.

And they want nothing back except your becoming.

But don’t take them for granted.

Because even cheerleaders need rest. Even supporters need support.

What they need from you:

Gratitude. Acknowledgment. Presence.

Don’t get so used to their love that you forget to reflect it back.

Water them as they water you.

Because in this lonely world, the loud supporter is rare.

Protect them. Celebrate them. Hold them close.

4. The Quiet Hater

They don’t always look like haters.Sometimes they smile.

Sometimes they follow. Sometimes they even clap.

But they’re waiting.

Waiting for you to fall, fail, or fumble.

They don’t want what you have, they just don’t want you to have it.

They think your glow is arrogance.

Your boundaries are attitude.

Your progress? Probably luck. Or a lie.

But hear this:

Their hate isn’t really about you.

It’s about what your light exposes in them, their excuses.

Their stuckness. Their comfort in chaos.

What they need from you:

Nothing. Not a reply. Not a prove-it. Not a show-and-tell.

Just peace.

Because peace is louder than shade.

Don’t try to be lovable to the ones committed to misunderstanding you.

Let them watch.

Let them stew. Then let your joy speak for itself.

5. The Becoming One

This one is sacred.

They’re watching you like scripture.

Studying your moves. Mirroring your choices.

You don’t even know they’re watching, but they are.

When you rise, they rise.

When you choose peace, they consider peace.

When you heal, they dare to believe healing is possible.

They are not your fans. They are your legacy.

They’re younger sisters, co-workers, cousins, strangers online.

They’re watching how you handle the pressure. The praise. The pain.

And they’re shaping their own stories based on what they see in you.

What they need from you:

Integrity.

Not perfection. Not performance.

Just truth. Just heart. Just you being real.

Because the becoming ones don’t need a hero.

They need proof that it’s possible to be whole and human.

So, What Does This Mean for You?

It means your life is louder than your voice. It means your healing is a ripple effect. It means every step forward is a map for someone else.

So be mindful. Be kind. Be bold.

Not for them , but for the version of you who once needed someone to watch, and whisper…“If she can, maybe I can too.”
